Takeshi “Tak” Niinami is the President and CEO of Suntory Holdings Limited, Japan’s largest beverage and food manufacturer with brands such as Jim Beam and Yamazaki amongst its portfolio and over 300 group companies all over the world.

Mr. Niinami started his career at Mitsubishi Corporation in 1981. In 1995, he founded Sodex Corp. (currently LEOC Co., Ltd.), a hospital food service joint venture between Mitsubishi and Sodexho in France.

In 2002, he joined Lawson, Inc., a major convenience store chain operator in Japan, and was appointed President and CEO that year.

In 2014, he joined Suntory Holdings Limited and currently President and CEO, Member of the Board, Representative Director.

Since 2014, Mr. Niinami has been a member of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy (CEFP), as Senior Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan. He is also a special member of the Tax Commission of Japan, and Chair of Committee for Promoting the Integrated Economic and Fiscal Reforms. He is Vice Chairman of the Japan Association of Corporate Executives and a member of Global Agenda Council on Japan, World Economic Forum.

Mr. Niinami received his Bachelor of Economics from Keio University and his
M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
