Advancing Women in Corporate Leadership

Overview

On November 15, 2017 the Committee for Economic Development of The Conference Board (CED) launched “Advancing Women in Corporate Leadership.” The effort was developed to further our previously launched Women’s Economic Empowerment program and our “Every Other One” initiative to encourage corporations to increase the number of women on boards.

Through our “Advancing Women in Corporate Leadership” effort, CED will encourage corporations to increase the number of women in leadership positions. Research indicates that greater female representation in leadership roles improves economic opportunities and mobility for both women and our nation. Supporters will be featured on our website and promoted via our social media and other marketing activities. Our efforts will include:

  • Encouraging business leaders to broaden their talent pool to include more qualified women
  • Activating Business Champions to advocate for the increase of women in leadership
  • Leveraging partnerships with national HR organizations to recruit women for leadership positions
  • Distilling research to produce recommendations for businesses to increase women in leadership
  • Creating a digital forum to highlight innovative practices and expand the national conversation of women in corporate leadership
