CED Executive VP Mike Petro Speaks on Public Financing at Brennan Center Forum

On March 29, 2012 The Brennan Center for Justice hosted a discussion on the benefits of public financing in New York State. Panelists included: Mike Petro, CED's Executive Vice President and Director of Business and Government Policy;Michael Malbin, executive director of the Campaign Finance Institute and a professor of political science at SUNY Albany;and Hazel Dukes, President of the NAACP New York State Conference.

Mr. Petro described the widespread business support for public financing and campaign finance reform and explained how public financing promotes competition by allowing elected officials to focus on good public policy
