Bloomberg Boards & Risk Briefing: Under Attack - The New Assault on American Corporations
CED Trustee Ben Heineman, Jr. was the lead speaker at a corporate governance briefing held at the Bloomberg headquarters building in New York City on March 25, 2010. The event was webcast and featured participation from the audience at the event and from around the world via the Internet and Bloomberg’s media terminals.
CED co-hosted the event, Bloomberg Boards & Risk Briefing: Under Attack -The New Assault on American Corporations, with The Torrenzano Group, and White House Writers Group. The briefing focused on corporate governance developments effecting corporations and what information, strategies, and techniques executives need to address them. The 2010 CED policy statement, Restoring Trust in Corporate Governance: The Six Essential Tasks of Boards of Directors and Business Leaders (link), was outlined by Attorney Heineman and discussed by participants. Attorney Heineman is the Chair of CED’s Corporate Governance Subcommittee and the lead author of the policy brief. Speakers included: Paul S. Atkins, Managing Director, Patomak Partners, LLC and former SEC Commissioner, Eileen Skevin Fusco, Esq. Member of the Board of Directors, MF Global Ltd, and Vice Chairman, Pro Mujer, Clark S.
