Sustainable Capitalism

Capitalism generates unmatched prosperity, yet growing inequality and diminishing opportunities threaten its long-term viability. To put capitalism on a sustainable path, CED develops solutions that combine the efficiency of the free-market system with public policies that promote greater economic opportunity and outcomes for all.

Policy recommendations emphasize reducing the influence of crony capitalism and other inefficient policies that divert economic resources away from their highest-valued uses. Through research and advocacy, Members exemplify what CED calls “business statesmanship,” a culture in which business leaders take a more expansive view of their responsibilities.
